EUGÉNIA CONTENTE
Born in 1992 in Ponta Delgada, in Portugal’s Azores Islands, Eugénia Contente discovered her passion for the guitar at the age of nine.
After studying at Hot Clube de Portugal, one of the country’s most respected jazz institutions, she developed a distinctive musical voice shaped by jazz, funk, and fusion. Driven by a desire to create original music, she formed her own trio, bringing together her influences in a sound that is both dynamic and deeply personal.
In 2023, Eugénia released her debut album, Duckontente, showcasing her talent as a composer, guitarist, and bandleader. That same year, her track Django Avishained was selected for the prestigious Novos Talentos FNAC compilation, highlighting some of Portugal’s most promising emerging artists.
Her trio later joined the house band of the acclaimed television show 5 Para a Meia-Noite, further expanding her visibility on the national music scene. In 2024, the single Rubber Duck earned her a nomination for Instrumental Performance at the International Portuguese Music Awards.
Recognised for both her technical skill and artistic identity, Eugénia became an endorsed artist for the renowned guitar brand Ibanez in 2025.
Today, Eugénia Contente Trio continues to captivate audiences with a vibrant blend of jazz, funk, and fusion, delivering energetic performances that balance virtuosity, creativity, and musical storytelling.
